Senior care living is often measured in medications administered, meals served, and daily mundane routines completed. But the true measure of caregiving lies in patience to listen and understand, and the compassion to recognize when an older adult needs more than assistance. For Carline Cadet Francois, senior care is not simply about looking after people, but it’s about making them feel valued, respected, and loved.
“It’s the care that makes our business do well,” said Carline Cadet Francois. “We find people who care, and when people fake care, we can all tell, and we want people who care to be in that room [Florida Assisted Living & Caregivers Business Conference 2027] in West Palm Beach.”
For nearly ten years, Carline Cadet Francois answered the call to duty as a deputy with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. She recognized her natural compassion and gift for caregiving, particularly when it came to seniors. That path would eventually lead her to become the driving force behind Florida Assisted Living Consulting (FALC), a guiding light for aspiring assisted living owners, established operators, and caregivers determined to elevate the standard of senior care.
Her transformation became personal with her very first client, a woman whose presence reminded Carline Cadet Francois of her grandmother. The woman welcomed her with a warmth that reached beyond the responsibilities of just another day on the job. That realization that she could protect, comfort, and change lives in an entirely different way.
“I noticed people in this industry don’t really share information,” she said. “Or people don’t understand the business and what comes with it. I learned a lot of information I learned through trial and error, and we want to have a space where people can gather all kinds of information.”
Bringing those essential pieces together, Florida Assisted Living Consulting (FALC) will host the 2027 Florida Assisted Living & Caregivers Conference, January 29–30, at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach.
At the helm is Carline Cadet Francois, founder of Florida Assisted Living Consulting and host of ALFCaregiverCon, whose professional journey has been defined by an enduring commitment to serving others.
“We even teach people on inspection history,” she said. “What they need to document, and families have to see what’s online but actually take the measure to see the A.L.F. with a visit.”

The upcoming conference reflects that mission on a much larger scale, bringing together professionals from across Florida’s assisted living ecosystem for practical education, industry insight, and meaningful business relationships.
Under the theme of building smarter and operating with greater clarity, the two-day conference will address the challenges of opening, licensing, managing, and growing an assisted living facility. January 29 will focus on building a strong foundation and avoiding costly startup mistakes, while January 30 will turn attention toward operations, compliance, marketing, occupancy, staffing, referrals, and long-term business growth.
The 2027 speaker lineup features professionals representing healthcare regulation, elder law, accounting, financing, real estate, construction, marketing, senior placement, and facility operations. Among the featured speakers are Kimberly R. Smoak, AHCA Deputy Secretary of the Division of Health Quality Assurance; Andrew Rosenberg, estate planning and elder law attorney; Eddie Mohamed, certified SBA lender; Amanda Babb, owner and president of CarePatrol of Boca Raton & North Broward; and numerous other industry specialists.
“The industry needs more good people like them,” she said. “It’s not a one-size-fits-all, but we are providing the information you need to get you started.”
Cadet Francois will also lead extended educational sessions, drawing on her operational experience and the thousands of care entrepreneurs she has educated and helped license assisted living facilities throughout Florida.
Beyond the conference’s educational sessions, attendees will have opportunities to establish relationships with industry partners, explore resources, and gain practical guidance for their next steps. General admission includes two full days of conference access and eligibility for up to nine Florida assisted living continuing education hours, subject to attendance verification. Registered attendees will also receive access to a complimentary professional headshot opportunity and an introductory offer for the ALF Thriving Circle community.
“The last two events sold out,” she said. “We manage to find out what the audience is asking for. We provide education, resource, and we provide a way for them to continue to ask questions and find resources. We’re expecting 500-plus, and it’s a no-fluff kind of day, and you can walk away finding a new bestie.”
For those seeking a more personalized experience, the conference will extend into a third day, January 31, with the exclusive ALF CEO Mastermind. Limited to 25 participants, the private leadership experience will provide direct access to Cadet Francois, individualized strategic guidance, and a written action plan tailored to each participant’s facility or prospective business.
“After the event, we plan on doing a podcast on this live and in-person,” she said. “We plan on doing core training, and plan on hosting classes throughout the year based on what the audience is asking for.”
Whether someone is still researching their first assisted living facility, navigating the licensing process, looking to improve an existing operation, or seeking stronger relationships within the senior care industry, the conference aims to turn uncertainty into a more actionable path forward.
Florida Assisted Living & Caregivers Conference will take place January 29–30, 2027, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. The ALF CEO Mastermind will follow on January 31.
